Energy Performance Certificates on Commercial Properties

I have mentioned previously the need for EPC to be available from 1 October 2008 ( for buildings over 1000 sq metres) but an additional caveat came into force on 4th January 2009- that any any commercial building with total cooling capacity ( air conditioning) greater than 12 kWr will need the systems inspected every 5 years and require an EPC.

Yet another burden for small businesses and could delay either the sale or signing a new lease.
