Moody’s puts Santander under review

Moody’s cut the rating of 25 Spannish Banks and decided to put Santander under review; concerns regarding the Spanish economy and further asset writedowns were the cause. This is interesting because Santander has been seen as one of the stronger banks and has been able to swallow up several well known UK institutions. Certainly their advertising plays on their financial strength.

Doubtful short term this will make much difference to Abbey or Alliance and Leicester’s appetite – as this remains limited anyway currently.
